Pre-Fab buildings is a term used to refer to structures assembled in-site using standard readymade tubular trusses and even completely knocked down (CKD) structures made in factories and only assembled at site.

Pre-fabrication is currently used in a broader sense to describe pre-engineered and standardized components/details that have been fabricated off-site and assembled on-site to form unique and customized structures and buildings.

Pre-fabrication buildings also came into existence in the 50s and 60s in the US.
